Project Consultation

A deep dive into your work. Whether it's a polished manuscript or just an idea, we'll discuss your current needs and goals. Prior to the consultation, you will send a sample of no more than 20 pages to be read and reviewed. During the consultation, we will discuss your strengths and weaknesses; what worked and what didn't; and what steps you should take next. You do not need a completed manuscript to request a consultation. Consultation topics can include (but are not limited to):

reviewing notes for a new novel
preparing a completed manuscript for publication
reviewing query letters and synopses
how to self publish
formatting for self publishing
brainstorming sessions
private tutoring on any aspect of writing (e.g. outlining, character creation, grammar)

Turn around time is approximately 4-6 weeks. Please allow up to 8 weeks for larger projects.

All editing services include a 1-hour consultation to discuss the notes and changes made and to answer any questions you many have.

Developmental Editing: A big picture, macro look at things such as structure, themes and and character development.

Copy Editing: A close up look at your work to improve sentence structure, grammar, and other nitpicky details.

Proofreading: A microscopic read through of your manuscript to catch and correct mistakes such as misspelled words and punctuation.
